Cheltenham Festival Live Online, March 10th to March 13th – 2015.
Possibly the world’s greatest jump racing event – the Cheltenham Festival has captured the minds of horse racing fans across the world over the years. 2013 broke all kinds of records with 235,125 race fans attending the annual meeting with almost 70,000 alone watching on the Gold Cup Friday. The Grand National may be the event that everyone knows about but there is no denying the importance of Cheltenham to race fans!
This year, the event begins again as always on the 2nd Tuesday of March (the 10th) and finishes with the final race, the 1.15 AP McCoy Annual Challenge Cup at 3.15 (grade 3 race). Of course, it’s the 3.20 race that everyone will be looking forward to, the Grade 1 Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase – one of the year’s most valued races.
The event is just around the corner now and we can already feel the buzz as the racing community prepares for the 4 days of action packed National Hunt horse racing. Will the Willie Mullins-trained horse ‘Faugheen’ be able to win the all important Champion Hurdle at 3.20 on Day 1 and what about Bobs Worth, Road to Riches Silviniaco Conti, Coneygree and Djakadam for the Gold Cup?! Of course, we cannot forget the Queen Mother Champion Chase with defending champion Sire de Grugy in as 2nd favourite behind returning Sprinter Sacre.
